"Spring Festival" Kicks Off In Downtown Pocomoke City

Posted: Updated:

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - The town of Pocomoke celebrated the coming of spring today.

The downtown area turned into a spring festival, featuring live entertainment, dozens of vendors, Easter activities for the kids, a car display, and more.

Town officials say Saturday was the first time they have held a festival during spring, and they hope it will be the start of more business in downtown Pocomoke City.

"I really wanted to bring something special to the downtown area so I thought a spring festival would be a great idea," says Karah Lacey, the town's downtown project coordinator. "It means more traffic to the downtown, to put Pocomoke on the map to compete with other cities. I want this to be a tourist town."

The town will continue their spring festivities next Saturday, April 19th with an Easter egg hunt beginning at 12:00 PM. For more information, call 410-957-1600.
