Change To Salisbury Festival Puts Downtown At Center Of Fun

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - We're just two weeks away from the 32nd Annual Salisbury Festival hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, and there's a big change this year.

Organizers say the festivities will take place on the downtown plaza, in an effort to promote the area as the heart of the city.

Just as in years past, the three-day event will have something for everyone, including live entertainment, food and shopping. The carnival will remain in
the parking lot between the library and the 47 ABC Station.

"It's just a great opportunity for people to come down and see not only what the festival has to offer - for your family, for children, for adults - but you can see all the wonderful business that are popping up downtown," said Shannon Layton, event chair.
"It's just a great way to bring the community together and celebrate spring."

The opening night Block Party is set for April 25, with a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the weekend at 6 p.m.

And, in addition to the fun on Saturday, kids can stop by and audition to be 47 ABC's Junior Sports Caster from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
