WICOMICO Co., Md. - Six Destination Imagination teams from Wicomico County are headed to the Global Finals in Knoxville, TN in May, after a stellar performance at the state tournament this weekend.

But each team needs to fundraise between $6,000 -$8,000, and they're asking for your help.

"Destination Imagination is a creative problem solving program that teaches the skills that are life long," program coordinator Susan Bounds said.

47 ABC caught up with a fifth grade team from North Salisbury Elementary Wednesday. They got first place in the state tournament!

"Our project was -- we did challenge DePanDemonium," fifth grader Sarah said.

"It's really fun because we didn't think we'd get first place, and big humble we did," fifth grader Osman said.

"We did practice a lot -- almost every Friday and Saturday," fifth grader David said.

"We're very excited and we can't wait but we have to fundraiser a lot of money," fifth grader Sarah said.

"We wrote up a letter with our pictures on it asking for some donations," fifth grader Kylie said.

If you'd like to donate to any of the teams, you can write a check to the teams' schools or the board of education with Destination Imagination in the memo line.
