One Rushed To The Hospital After Early Morning Shooting In Dover

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - Dover Police say they are looking for information after an early morning shooting left a man in critical condition.

According to the report, just before 1:15 AM, Dover PD received several 911 calls for shots fired on Spruance Road. Police say when officers arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old male, with gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim was rushed to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries, and is now listed in critical but stable condition.

Police say their investigation shows that a fight broke out between several people on Spruance Road, and someone fired 12 or more shots towards a home. Several of the rounds reportedly hit the home, and nearly hit other people in and around the house, as they fled for safety.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 18-years-old, 5' 5" -5' 6" tall, with a thin build, and last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, with navy blue jeans. Police say they are also looking for a tan or gold SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Trailblazer, with the back windows tinted and chrome rims.

Anyone with any information should contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111, Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333, or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
