UPDATE: MD Senate Panel Changes Minimum Wage Bill

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The great minimum wage debate continues in Maryland.

The Senate Finance Committee passed a measure 7-4, which would ultimately raise the minimum wage to $10.10.

One of the biggest changes: community-based workers who work with the developmentally disabled would get paid more over several years in order to keep their pay above minimum wage. Also, the increase would come eventually in July 2018, one year later than the House bill.

The bill now heads to the Senate floor for a vote. The measure previously passed in the House.
