DOVER, Del. - A Smyrna man is behind bars, after Police say they linked him to a series of burglaries in Dover and Smyrna.

Delaware State Police say on Friday, around 11:35 AM, Troopers arrived on Juniper Court, in Dover, for reports of a suspicious male walking around the tree line in the Hickory Hollow development. Police say while searching the area, they noticed that a home on Pebble Drive looked like it had been broken into, and when they talked to the victim, who wasn't home, they found that laptops, a smart TV, and jewelry had been stolen from the home.

According to the report, witnesses living in the area reportedly saw the suspicious man go into a home on Juniper Court. Troopers say they went into the home, after getting permission from the homeowner, and found 25-year-old Lyndon King, under a bed. As they attempted to arrest King, Police say a physical altercation ensued, during which King apparently punched the Trooper several times, before he was finally taken into custody. A search of the home reportedly revealed a laptop that was taken from the Pebble Drive home, but none of the other items were located.

Police say they were able to connect King to a number of other burglaries in Smyrna and Dover, where jewelry and electronics were stolen from homes, before being sold to local pawn shops. Police say on March 20th a handgun was stolen from a home on Pearsons Corner Road and on March 24th three shotguns were taken from a home on East Denny Road, but at this time, none of those weapons have been recovered.

King was charged with 5 counts of burglary 2nd degree, 4 counts of theft of a firearm, 5 counts of theft, resisting arrest, offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, falsifying business records, theft by false pretense, selling stolen property, and 4 counts of criminal mischief. He is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $20,500 bond.
