Motion Hearing Set For April 10 In New Bundick Trial

Posted: Updated:

ACCOMAC, Va. - A lot has happened in the year since Tonya Bundick and Charles Smith were arrested for their involvement in 70-plus arsons in Accomack County.

This includes dozens of hearings, two trials and the release of arrest videos with a confession from Smith.

At least one more hearing can be added to the list.

47 ABC confirmed that a motion hearing is scheduled for April 10th in Accomack County. Two motions are expected to be discussed: a change of venue and separate trials for the remaining 62 charges against Bundick. The above-date was originally scheduled as Bundick's second trial.

In January, the Accomack County woman entered an Alford plea in her first trial, meaning that she does not believe she is guilty, but admits there would be enough evidence to convict her.

Both Bundick and Smith were arrested last April 1st.

Smith pleaded guilty in October. Neither have been sentenced thus far.
