Milford Teen Charged In Connection With Several Robberies

Posted: Updated:

MILFORD, Del. - Two teenagers have been charged, after allegedly attempting to rob a business earlier in March.

Milford Police say officers were called to a business on S. Walnut Street, where the victims said a male subject, armed with a handgun, walked up the front door, and attempted to go inside, but the 35-year-old male victim was able to act quickly, by closing and locking the door with the suspect on the outside. The suspect reportedly then pointed the handgun at both the 35-year-old male, and 48-year-old female victims inside, before fleeing on foot.

A Milford Police K-9 Officer was apparently able to track the suspect from the business, to the front door of a home on the 200 block of SE 2nd Street. A 17-year-old male was arrested at the home, he also had warrants out of Kent County Family Court. Police say their investigation showed that the 17-year-old along with 19-year-old Jacob Morgan of Milford, attempted to rob the business together.

Morgan, who later turned himself into Milford Police, was charged with attempted robbery 1st degree, 2 counts of aggravated menacing, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy 2nd degree.

The 17-year-old was charged with attempted robbery 1st degree, 2 counts of aggravated menacing, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, tampering with physical evidence, and conspiracy 2nd degree.

Police say their investigation also linked the 17-year-old to several other robberies, since late February, including two each on February 20th and March 7th in the Walmart parking lot, and one on March 11th, where he reportedly called in a fake pizza, and took the driver's money along with the pizza. The 17-year-old was also charged with a slew of robbery, burglary, and related firearm offenses in those incidents.

He is now being held at the Stevenson Center on all of the charges, on cash bond.

Milford Police says their Criminal Division is still continuing their investigation.
