HARRINGTON, Del. - A Harrington man is behind bars on his fourth DUI offense.

Harrington Police say officers on patrol on Sunday, around 6:45 PM, responded to a non-injury vehicle accident on South DuPont Highway at Milford Harrington Highway. Once on scene, officers say they met with the driver of a vehicle, who said that the vehicle that had hit her, had fled. She was apparently able to give the officers a registration number the fleeing vehicle.

Police say they ran a computer check on that registration, which lead them to an address on Whitelysburg Road, where they found the vehicle, along with 61-year-old Keith Bauer, who was taken into custody.

Police say Bauer had three previous DUI, dating back to 1991.

He was then charged with a 4th driving under the influence offense, along with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to provide information at property damage accident, following a motor vehicle too closely, and failure to have licence in possession.

Bauer is now being held at the Sussex Correction Institute on $2,103 cash bond.
