Easton Man Charged WIth Armed Robbery

Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md. - The Easton Police Department says they arrested and charged an Easton man for armed robbery yesterday.

According to reports, Barnard Clayton, 23, was in the area of South Street and South Aurora Street when he struck a 19-year-old Hispanic male in the face and demanded that the victim hand over his money. When the victim refused, Clayton reportedly reached for his waistband as if he was reaching for a weapon. The victim was reportedly able to get away from Clayton and ran to a nearby restaurant where he was able to get assistance and call 911.

Shortly after, police say they dispatched a description of the suspect and Clayton was located a few blocks away. Police say Clayton was then positively identified by the victim as the person who struck and attempted to rob him. Clayton was then reportedly taken before a Talbot County Commissioner where he was held in the Talbot County Detention Center on $400,000 bond.
