QUEEN ANNE'S CO., Md. - The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says they investigated an accidental fire last night that claimed the life of an adult male victim.

According to reports, the fire happened around 9:28 PM inside a camper style trailer located at 509 Fox Meadow Drive in Queen Anne. Nearly 35 firefighters reportedly responded from Queen Anne, Hillsboro, Grasonville, Goodwill, and Ridgley Volunteer Fire Departments to extinguish the one alarm blaze.

Officials say the body of Perry G. Hoxter, 59, was quickly located after the fire was brought under control. The victims' wife reportedly escaped the blaze unharmed and explained her husband had ignited a kerosene heater which caused some kerosene to ignite on the floor around him. Officials say the victim has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Reports say an on-scene investigation determined no smoke alarms were located inside the trailer. No other injuries were reported during the incident, and officials say damage value loss has been estimated at $20,000.
