Oyster Season Will End March 31st In Maryland

MARYLAND - Oyster season will officially end in Maryland next Monday.

The state's Department of Natural Resources reportedly denied a request made by Senator Colburn to extend the season until the end of April.

He reportedly argued that the winter weather and freezing water temperatures forced watermen to lose several days of work this season.

However, natural resources officials say the watermen only lost 10 days, which they consider "not unreasonable" over a six-month season.
