DE State Police Arrest Camden Man For 6th Offense DUI

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - Delaware State Police say they have arrested a man from Camden after he was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol for the sixth time.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 4:38 PM Friday afternoon when a trooper was dispatched to a report of a male passed out in the parking lot of Royal Farms, located on the corner of West Lebanon Road and South State Street.  The trooper was reportedly able to locate the vehicle in question still running and observe the driver, who was later identified as Titus W. Hobbs, with his foot on the brake.

Police say Hobbs, who was slumped over in the vehicle asleep, was woken by the trooper who could immediately smell alcohol being emitted from him.  A DUI investigation reportedly ensued and Hobbs was taken into custody and transported back to Troop 3.  A computer check allegedly revealed he had five previous DUI convictions (10/09/89, 12/28/89, 12/31/89, 11/30/94, and 03/13/96); this arrest would make number six.

Police say Titus Hobbs was arraigned on the Felony DUI charge and later released after posting $5,000.00 cash bond.
