WILMINGTON, Del. - Delaware State Police say they are investigating an early morning shooting that sent one person to a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
According to reports, troopers were dispatched to Vibzes Lounge located at 1030 South Market Street after a 911 call was received stating a person was shot. Troopers reportedly made contact with the 19-year-old male who advised he attended a party that was being held at the night club. As the patrons were leaving, the victim was reportedly standing near his vehicle when he heard a gunshot and realized that he had been shot in the right leg. The victim was then allegedly transported to a local hospital where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury. Police say he was unable to provide any suspect information.
Police say it does not appear as though the victim was targeted and detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident.
