Women Killed In Newark Crash Identified

Posted: Updated:

NEWARK, Del. - Delaware State Police say the two women killed in yesterday's crash on Paper Mill Road have been identified.

Ashlyn Sisson, 23, was reportedly the driver of the vehicle, and her sister, Devyn Sisson, 22 was the passenger. Police say both were pronounced dead at the scene and neither were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police say the Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation. According to reports, the crash happened at 1:18 AM on Friday as a 2000 Plymouth Neon traveled north on Paper Mill Road, north of the intersection with Possum Park Road. For an undetermined reason, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and it traveled over the raised concrete median. Police say it continued in a northwesterly direction, crossing the southbound lane, striking the curb, and ultimately stopping when its driver's side struck a utility pole.
