Shorebirds Fan Fest

*** Unfortunately the Shorebirds have cancelled this event due to weather. It will not be rescheduled, however WMDT will be rescheduling Jr. Sportscaster auditions. We will keep you posted on when that will be!***

Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are excited to  announce this year's Froggy 99.9 Shorebirds Fan Fest will be held on Saturday, March 29. The event will take place from 9 am to 12 pm at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Fan fest is open to the public, and admission is free of charge.

Individual game tickets go on sale for the first time at Fan Fest.  Fans will have the chance to purchase tickets to prime games including the home opener on April 10 and the Independence Day game on July 4.  The Shorebirds Box Office will open at 9 am. If you are unable to attend Fan Fest, tickets will also be on sale through www.theshorebirds.com.

Registration for the Q105 Easter Egg Scramble and Kiss 95.9 National Anthem Tryouts will begin at 9 am in the main lobby of the stadium.

Shorebirds Fan Fest is headlined by the Q105 Easter Egg Scramble for boys and girls ages 12 and under.  All kids must have their own Easter egg baskets to participate in the scramble, which will take place in the outfield grass.  The scramble will be split into the three groups based on age: four years and under will begin at 10 am, ages five through eight will begin at 10:45 am and children nine and older will start at 11:30 am.  All kids will receive candy following the egg hunt. There will also be a photographer on site for kids to have their free picture with the Easter Bunny. The photos will be free to download from the KISS959fm.com

"Fan Fest has something for fans of all ages from the National Anthem tryouts to Easter Egg Scramble and brand new WMDT Junior Sportscaster Audition," said Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters. "Come on down to Perdue Stadium to enjoy the activities and get excited for the upcoming season!"

The Shorebirds will hold Kiss 95.9 National Anthem Tryouts on the field.  If you want to sing the national anthem before a Shorebirds game during the 2014 season, you must attend.  All interested performers will be asked to deliver their rendition of a short portion of the national anthem on the field.  Registration for national anthem tryouts will take place from 9-10 am behind the third base dugout at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium while auditions will run from 10 am to 12 pm.

A new addition to Fan Fest is the WMDT Junior Sportscaster Audition. Kids ages 17 and under can stop by and record a demo. WMDT will post the videos to their website at www.wmdt.com, and viewers will vote on their favorite. The participant with the most votes will be chosen as the WMDT Junior Sportscaster. The winner will get to cover a Shorebirds game with WMDT's Sports team and receive four box seat tickets to an upcoming game.

There will also be a Summer Camp Fair on the concourse of the stadium.  Local summer camps will be showcasing their camps and handing out brochures.  Parents and kids will have the chance to ask questions and speak to camp directors and counselors.  The list of camps scheduled to attend as of March 18 is below.

·         Camp Wright

·         Crown Sports Center

·         Kindred Spirit Farm
