UPDATE: Police ID Victim After Fatal Vehicle Crash In Milton

Posted: Updated:

MILTON, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Newark man.

The collision occurred Tuesday around 2:15PM.  Police say 25-year-old Daniel Murray was traveling southbound on Coastal Highway before approaching the Beach Highway intersection. During that time, a dump truck hauling a backhoe on a flatbed trailer was stopped at the intersection, waiting to turn westbound on SR16.

Once given the green light the dump truck, driven by 54-year-old Alvin Mast of Greenwood, began to make the turn. Murray failed to stop for the red light, striking the truck in the right front corner. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Mast was not injured in the collision.

This incident is still under investigation.  Authorities ask that any witnesses to this crash contact Master Corporal K. Argo at 302-644-5020 ext. 117.
