BERLIN, Md. - Parking on Assateague Island may soon look different.
The National Park Service recently announced it will remove and relocate the South Ocean Beach Parking Area and reconstruct parking at Bayside Picnic with a clay and clamshell surface.
This comes nearly six months after a public review period ended for the environmental assessment for the popular tourist spot. Officials say they found no significant environmental impact.
These areas sustained significant damage from Superstorm Sandy back in 2012.
