BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - A Greenwood woman is behind bars, after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the neck.

Delaware State Police say on Sunday around 5:15 PM, a 33-year-old male was visiting relatives at a home on Mill Park Drive in Bridgeville, when his 19-year-old girlfriend, LaRhonda Jones, started arguing with him in the driveway. The male reportedly told Jones numerous times to leave, at which point she went to her vehicle and apparently grabbed an item from the driver's side door. According to the report, as the male turned away, Jones stabbed him once in the neck with a steak knife, then got into the vehicle and left.

A friend of the victim was taking him to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, when they saw a Trooper on a traffic stop and pulled in behind the cruiser to report the incident. Police say the victim also told the Trooper about a threatening text message that he received earlier in the day, where Jones said she was going to kill him. The victim was then transported to NMH, where he was treated for the severe injury.

Troopers arrested Jones at her home in Greenwood, and charged her with attempted murder 1st degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, reckless endangering 1st degree, aggravated menacing, terroristic threatening. She is now being held at Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $141,000 cash bail.
