Dagsboro Man Charged with Twelfth-Offense DUI After Crash

DAGSBORO, Del. - A Dagsboro man was charged withtwelfth-offense DUI after he was found fleeing a crash Friday.

Delaware State Police Troopers received areport of a driver walking away from a single-vehicle crash on Nine Foot Road around 7:25 PM. That's where police say they found a 1998 Ford Mustang had driven off of the road. Its driver, 55 year-old James Fisher, was found hiding behind bushes nearby. 

Fisher was reportedly,not injured in the crash.

After determining that Fisher was under the influence ofalcohol, he was taken into custody. A routine check of his criminal historyrevealed Fisher had eleven DUI convictions. Additionally, his driver's licensewas suspended and his vehicle was not properly registered.

While detained, Fisher was uncooperative and refused to bephotographed and fingerprinted. He was charged with felony DUI, failure tocomply with taking of photographs and fingerprints, and numerous trafficcharges.

He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution.
