SMYRNA, Del. - A Smyrna woman is behind bars, on accusations of murdering her husband.

Delaware State Police say on September 16th, 2013, Troopers and medical personnel were called to a Bryn Zion Road home, where 44-year-old Jamie Baker, reportedly found her husband, James Baker, deceased in the bedroom. James Baker was sent to The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Troopers reportedly collected evidence from the home, including pills, syringes, and a box with liquid steroids inside.

During the autopsy, the Medical Examiner reportedly found that Mr. Baker had a substance suspected to be Ethylene Glycol in his kidneys. The chemical, found in anti-freeze, was also found in the bottles of steroids that were taken from the home. The Medical Examiner says the manner of death was then ruled death a homicide by poisoning.

According to Police, James Baker ordered the steroids on the internet in June 2013, and had them shipped to a friends house, where they then divided the bottles up. Baker then apparently took his home, and put them in a locked toolbox in a closet.

On March 13th, 2014, Detectives searched the Bryn Zion Road home, and talked with Jamie Baker, who apparently said she had used a hypodermic syringe to take anti-freeze from a container stored in the garage, then injected it into several bottles of the steroids. Baker was arrested, and charged with 1st degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She is now being held at Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution without bail.
