Indian River Extending School Day To Make Up For Missed Days

Posted: Updated:

INDIAN RIVER, Del. - To make up for missed snow days, a local school district will be extending their school day.

The Indian River School District announced on Thursday, that starting on Monday, March 17th, the district will be extending the school day by 30 minutes at all of its schools. Officials say the time will be added on to the end of the school day, and that morning start times for each school will stay the same.

The school day extension is to make up for the seven days that the district has had to close school during the 2013-2014 year, due to inclement weather.

The district also noted that they will also be pushing the end of the third marking period from March 31st, to April 2nd, with report cards being distributed on April 9th.
