OCEAN CITY, Md. - An Ocean City woman was hit by a car Monday night shortly after 9:00 PM.

Maryland State police say Michelle Bowers, 49, was hit on Keyser Point Road.  The driver then reportedly took off after hitting Bowers.

Shortly afterward, an officer saw a Red Chevrolet Tahoe, with passenger side mirror damage, on Golf Course Road at Route 50.

Reports say the driver, Salah Ramadan, said he knew he struck something, but was unaware it was a person.

Authorities say Ramadan was charged with failing to return and remain at the scene.

The victim was sent to PRMC for treatment.
