DOVER, Del. - A Dover man has been charged, after he allegedly stole items from vehicles, in Kent County.

Delaware State Police say on February 25th, they started an investigation, after there were numerous car break-ins within a two mile radius of South Dover, in the developments off of South State Street. According to the report, in at least two of those incidents, the passenger's side window had been smashed, in order to get into the locked vehicle. Police say once the suspect got into the vehicle, they would take electronics, purses, and wallets, before fleeing.

Later that day, one of the victim's credit cards was reportedly used to get gas at a South Governor's Avenue gas station, and then another victim's card was apparently denied at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on South DuPont Highway. A Police investigation lead to 34-year-old Terrane Bratcher as a suspect, who was then positively identified on video surveillance footage.

Bratcher was arrested on March 7th, and charged with 6 counts of 3rd degree burglary, 3rd degree conspiracy, 6 counts of theft, unlawful use of a credit card, attempted unlawful use of a credit card, and 2 counts of criminal mischief. He was later released on $6,350 bond. DSP say Troopers are still continuing their investigation into these incidents.

The Delaware State Police want to remind people to utilize the following tips:
· Lock your car doors and roll up you windows
· Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle
· Leave outdoor lights on in the driveway or have security lighting installed
· Report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1
