WICOMICO CO., Md. - A local school board says they will likely be extending the year by a week, to make up for missed snow days.
Wicomico County Public Schools says that because of the seven school days that have been cancelled, families should expect the school year to be extended through Friday, June 13th. School had been scheduled to end on Friday, June 6th.
At this point, school officials are reportedly still considering all makeup options, and no final decisions will be made before early April. These plans could still be affected by a state waiver of some makeup days, but the State Superintendent of Schools won't make those decisions until the end of March.
