PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Officials arrested two people, after an explosive device was reportedly found at a local high school.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office Bomb Squad says on Wednesday, around 2:40 PM, they were called to Washington High School on Old Princess Anne Road, in Princess Anne, for reports of an explosive device.

An investigation reportedly revealed that school staff found a detonated a chemical reaction device, also known as a soda bottle bomb, on the front lawn of the high school, after it was intentionally thrown from a school bus window. No one was injured, and there was no property damage to the facility, according to the report.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was on scene collecting evidence for around three hours. The Somerset County Sheriff's Office is assisting the Fire Marshal's Office with the investigation at this time.

On Friday, Officials say they wrapped up the investigation with two arrests, one juvenile, and 18-year-old Antonio Daiz-Hernandez. Both were charged with manufacturing of a destructive device and the possession of a destructive device. The juvenile was then released to the custody of his parents, while Diaz-Hernanadez was held at the Wicomico County Detention Center. Each is facing up to 50 years in prison, and $500,000 in fines, if convicted.
