Salisbury Man Accused Of Stealing And Cashing Checks

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man has been charged, after allegedly forging, and cashing checks.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says they were contacted by an elderly female, who noticed that five checks were missing from her checkbook. An investigation reportedly showed that those checks were used to get cash and pay a utility bill for 54-year-old Paul Green.

According to the victim, Green did work at the victim's home, and had the opportunity to take the checks. Police say that four of the checks were made payable to "Paul Green," and were cashed, totaling nearly $3,0000. All of the checks were apparently fraudulently signed with the account holder's signature.

Green was arrested, charged with forgery, theft, obtain property of a vulnerable adult, and issuance of a false document, and released on bond, after seeing the District Court Commissioner.
