Blaze Damages Millsboro Bennie Smith Funeral Home

MILLSBORO, Del. - The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office says they are investigating a fire that heavily damaged a three story structure operating as Bennie Smith Funeral Home.

According to reports, the blaze occurred in the 200 block of S. Washington Street and was reported at 1:25 PM. The Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company, assisted by Georgetown, Indian River and Dagsboro fire companies reportedly extinguished the flames. Officials say there were no reported injuries. 

Reports say state fire investigators were called to the scene, and the investigation is continuing at this time, to determine the origin and cause of the fire. 

Total fire damage was reportedly estimated at $350,000.
