Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury woman was arrested Thursday afternoon, in connection to an early morning arson.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says a fire broke out in a First Street home in Salisbury, at around 4:45 AM. Officials say the blaze took three Salisbury firefighters, less than five minutes to control, and caused an estimated $200 in damages.

The Fire Marshal's Office ruled the cause as arson, and through investigation, obtained an arrest warrant for a 33-year-old Connie Stevens.

Later in the day on Thursday, Stevens was arrested, and charged with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st degree arson, 1st and 2nd degree malicious burning, 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and malicious destruction of property. She is currently being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center. If convicted, Stevens faces the possibility of life in prison and more than $63,000 in fines.
