DOVER, Del. - A Dover man will spend the rest of his life behind bars, for dealing drugs. On Thursday, Attorney General Beau Biden announced that 30-year-old Seanne Godwin was sentenced to life in prison for drug dealing, in connection to an October 16th, 2012 incident.

Delaware State Police Kent County Governor's Task Force was on patrol in the Autumn Run Apartments in Dover, when they attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle. That car apparently didn't stop and lead Police on a chase, and when it finally did stop, a loaded 22-caliber handgun, marijuana, and a digital scale were found inside. Godwin, who was a backseat passenger, told Police that he had facilitated a drug deal, and was arrested.

In December 2013, Godwin was convicted of drug dealing and 2nd degree conspiracy in Kent County Superior Court. On Thursday, the judge imposed the life sentence, due to Godwin's habitual offender status, meaning, that he was convicted of 3 separate and distinct felonies.

After posting bond in connection to his October 2012 arrest, Godwin was arrested again in May 2013, on drug dealing - heroin, possession of marijuana, and other charges, in a separate case. Those charges are apparently still pending.

Two other occupants of the vehicle in the October 16, 2012 arrest, 24 year-old Kendric Forman and 21-year-old Tyere Joyner, were also charged and successfully prosecuted in connection with this case.
