SALISBURY, Md. - A local police force is working to cut down thefts from businesses. Salisbury Police say they are hoping by publicizing the arrests they make for shoplifting, they will, in turn, reduce incidents of the crime.
They say that shoplifters contribute to retailers having to raise costs to cover those stolen items. Experts say U.S. retailers report $35 million in stolen merchandise, every day.
From February 18th through February 24th, Salisbury Police say they made six shoplifting arrests:
Dawn Arnett, 29, of Hebron, MD Roland Pianka, 29, of Salisbury, MD William Dubrel, 24, of Princess Anne, MD Karlo Vickers, 53, of Parsonsburg, MD Thomas Cooper, 21, of Willards, MD Kironde Pride, 20, of Fruitland, MD
Salisbury Police say all six people were charged with theft.
