UPDATE: Identity Of Pedestrian Released In Fatal Accomack Crash

ONANCOCK, Va. - Police have released the identity of the pedestrian in a fatal a crash in Accomack County.

Virginia State Police say on Tuesday around 11:20 AM, they were called to Route 718 in Onancock, where a 2011 Hyundai Sonata had reportedly hit 58-year-old Franklin Belote, of Onancock, who was riding a bicycle.

According to the report, the Belote was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. The driver, Helen McDonaugh, of Onancock, was reportedly wearing a seat belt. Police say that alcohol, nor speed were a factor in the crash, and McBonayth has been charged with failure to observed marked lanes.

VSP say the investigation into this incident is on-going at this time.
