UPDATE: Arrest Made In Liberty Street Arson

SALISBURY, Md. - An arrest has been made in last week's reported arson in Salisbury.

According to reports, the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Maximino Melendez, 25, in connection with the house fire that broke out last Wednesday on the 600 block of Liberty Street.

The blaze caused a reported $30,000 in damages and no injuries were reported.

Authorities say Melendez was arrested without incident Tuesday morning. He is reportedly charged with first and second degree arson, four counts of reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property. Officials say, if Melendez is found guilty, he could face up to 78 years behind bars along with $108,000 in fines.
