DE State Police Investigate Attempted Robbery Of Family Dollar

WILMINGTON, Del. - Delaware State Police say they are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred yesterday evening at the Family Dollar on 1914 Maryland Avenue.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 9:00 PM when a black male suspect with a cloth over his face approached a 19-year-old female cashier. He reportedly displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. After the cashier informed him that she was unable to open the register, the suspect reportedly fled.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 18 and 25 years old, approximately 6'1" tall, thin build, and wearing a cloth over his face. Troopers say no one was injured during this incident.
