Grains Make Comeback In Fitness, Weight Loss

REHOBOTH BEACH, Md. - As people step up their workout routines to get healthy and lose weight, health experts say that grains are a new trend on dinner tables that can help reach fitness goals.

Ancient grains like polenta, quinoa and barley, and grains like wild rice are gaining popularity.

"People who eat grains do better with their weight," said Lesslee Belmore, weight loss and health coach. "It helps with their hormone levels and even testosterone. Having certain types of grains really makes a difference in people's lives."

And instead of following organized diets, Belmore says people are gravitating toward filling plates with clean, unprocessed foods.
