Serial Shoplifter Sentenced To Six Years Behind Bars

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - A Frankford woman has been sentenced, after trying to steal a television from a local Wal-Mart.

On Tuesday, 43-year-old Sheronda Jennings was convicted of attempted theft, conspiracy to commit theft, possession of cocaine, and trespassing. The charges stem from an incident where Jennings tried to take a 50" television from the Fruitland Wal-Mart.

Jennings is reportedly a repeat offender, who has been convicted of shoplifting multiple times in both Maryland and Delaware. She has been sentenced to 6 years and three months in the custody of the Division of Corrections.

Authorities say retailers have formed an alliance in Wicomico County to combat shoplifting. They are meeting regularly with investigators and prosecutors, and say that now, more than ever, shoplifting in Wicomico County is a bad idea.
