House Fire Displaces Residents In Cambridge On Sunday

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - The Maryland State Fire Marshal has ruled a Sunday night blaze in Dorchester County, accidental.

According to reports, a house fire broke out just after 9:00 PM, on the 500 block of Goldsborough Ave in Cambridge. Fire departments from Rescue, Church Creek, Madison, Linkwood-Salem, and Trappe responded to the blaze. Reports say the two alarm fire took 40 firefighters, around 40 minutes to control.

Investigators say it was an accidental electrical fire, that began in an interior wall. There was a smoke alarm, but it reportedly did not activate.

Authorities say the flames caused about $25,000 in damages to the one story family dwelling. The family has reportedly been displaced, and officials say they are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
