Filming Begins For SU Grad Student Documentary

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Filming is now underway for a documentary about an African child soldier.

The director is a Salisbury University grad student.

Filming will take place in two African countries. One of the producers, also a grad student from SU, is there taking pictures to tell the story of Charles Wratto, a former Liberian child soldier.

Director Martin Jones says the first part of filming began earlier this week. In an interview in December, Jones told WMDT that he "made a promise to Charles that I would help him go back and find his family and document this so that he can now move forward with the real work of getting the school finished."

Jones says the rest of the crew will fly out to the next filming location in Nigeria next month.
