Delaware Lifts Limited State Of Emergency For Kent Co.

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. - A state of emergency remains in effect for New Castle County, but has since been lifted for Kent County.

Early Thursday, Gov. Jack Markell issued a limited state of emergency and a driving warning for Kent and New Castle Counties, after a storm brings significant amounts of snow to Delaware.

Although road conditions have improved in Kent County, Gov. Markell is still asking drivers to stay off the road, if you don't need to travel, and if you do, to be careful.

Governor Markell says "If you have to go out on the roads today, please drive slowly and carefully. Hundreds of DelDOT employees continue working to improve road conditions, but snowy and icy spots still exist and drivers should exercise caution."

New Castle County remains under a State of Emergency with a Level 1 Driving Warning until further notice.
