Body Found In Home After Harrington House Fire

HARRINGTON, Del. - A person was found dead inside a burning Harrington home on Wednesday morning.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says the blaze at a home on Vernon Road, just West of the City of Harrington, was reported shortly after 1:00 PM. The Harrington Fire Company responded to the fire, and after extinguishing the flames, found one person deceased inside. An autopsy is reportedly being conducted on Wednesday, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

State Fire Investigators are still looking into the where the fire started, and what caused it. Officials say the house was heavily damaged, with total loss estimated at $50,000. No other injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation.
