Salisbury Residents Could See Storm Water Utility Fee

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A storm water utility fee could be on the way for Salisbury residents.

The city council unanimously passed the bill last night to a second and final hearing. Council members say they still have not set a date for the hearing, and they have to within 60 days or else it must go through the legislative process again. They say they plan on doing it within the 60-day period, but it could take a couple of weeks.

If approved, the annual fee could reportedly take effect as early as January 1st of next year, and could cost homeowners a flat rate of $20 to fund citywide storm water upgrades.
