Princess Anne Police Looking For Bank Robbery Suspect

Posted: Updated:

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Police are looking for a possibly armed bank robbery suspect in Somerset County.

Princess Anne Police say they are currently investigating a robbery at the BB&T Bank on Mt. Vernon Road, in Princess Anne. The initial call came in at 3:36 PM, after a man walked into the bank, wearing a white scarf around his face, and handed the teller a note demanding cash and reportedly saying he'd shoot or kill. The female teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, before he fled in an unknown direction. The suspect was the only customer in the bank. No one was injured.

The suspect is reportedly described as a young probably 20 to 22-years-old, very light skinned black male, with a yellowish tint to his skin, wearing a black jacket with green piping, black hoodie, and gray pants. He is believed to be between 5' 9" to 5' 10" tall, with round eyes.

Police say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, as he insinuated to the bank teller that he had a weapon in his waistband, but didn't actually display one.

Chief Keller, of Princess Anne Police, says "he's at large right now there is no threat to the community, there's a lot of police out in the community looking for him now. State Police are in town, UMES Police have been notified, Sheriffs Office also in town."

PAPD say they will release more information as it becomes available. Stay tuned to WMDT and WMDT.com for the latest.
