HARTLY, Del. - A Hartly man has been arrested, after Police allegedly found marijuana plants at his home.

Delaware State Police say they went to the Lockwood Chapel Road home of 57-year-old James Evans, around 8:00 PM on Monday, to serve a protection from abuse order. They say Evans was also wanted out of the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.

Once they arrived, they say they were allowed into the home, where they found Evans walking out a bedroom, and were able to take him into custody. Police say while arresting Evans, they saw an illegal marijuana grow operation inside his bedroom closet. They reportedly found 19 marijuana plants, weighing 7.5 grams, along with several bags, jars, and pills bottles with marijuana seeds, totaling 35 grams.

Evans was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance - marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $5,200 bond.
