New Data Shows DE Employers Hire More Returning Veterans

Posted: Updated:

DELAWARE - According to new data, local Delaware employers appear to be hiring returning military members at a robust pace.

The study, recently released by the University of Syracuse's Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IMVF), reportedly found that the Delaware unemployment rate for Gulf War Era II veterans, the most recent returning group of service members, was 12.9 percent at the end of 2011. IMVF officials say that rate plunged to 6.4 percent at the end of 2013.

Delaware officials say the state's newly updated labor website is the most convenient way employers can find qualified veterans, the site is also the perfect place to find just about any type of qualified job seeker.
