Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest In Easton

Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md. - The Easton Police Department says a traffic stop led to a drug arrest this morning.

According to reports, Easton Police conducted a traffic stop on a silver BMW 740 bearing Delaware temporary registration in the Hardee's parking lot near Ocean Gateway. The driver of the vehicle, John Ingersoll Jr., 41, of Preston, MD, was reportedly observed placing something under the dashboard of the vehicle. Police say they had Ingersoll exit the vehicle so they could check for weapons. After a K9 scan of the vehicle was conducted, a search reportedly revealed two small baggies of suspected marijuana and one Xanax pill.

Police say Ingersoll was then placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of controlled dangerous substance not marijuana, displaying expired registration plate issued by any state, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, driving uninsured vehicle and driving a vehicle on highway with unpaid registration fee. Ingersoll was reportedly seen before Talbot County District Court Commissioner and released on his own recognizance.
