Wicomico Girl Has 100th Blood Transfusion

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - Our Good News comes from Wicomico County, where a pretty brave girl we've been following for a while made a major milestone.

Five year old Ashlynn Bruce got her 100th blood transfusion February 7th.

Ashlynn suffers from a condition called Diamond-Blackfan anemia, which keeps her body from producing red blood cells.

The condition requires Ashlynn to get a transfusion every three weeks.  The hospital staff threw her a party in honor of her 100th transfusion, and Ashlynn wore a shirt thanking the many blood donors who have helped keep her healthy.
