Removing Snow And Ice Have Cost DelDOT Nearly $10M

Posted: Updated:

DELAWARE - With all that snow and ice that came down this winter -- just how much did it cost to clear the roadways in Delaware?

DelDOT says so far, the state has spent nearly $10 million, and has used up more than 65,000 tons of salt.  The funds come out of DelDOT's $100 million capital budget.

The state has spent more on snow removal this year than the past two years combined, but it's nowhere near the most.

In 2011, Delaware spent $14 million, and in 2010, nearly $18 million.
