OCEAN CITY, Md. - An Ocean City man is behind bars, after allegedly stealing $30,000 from a local bank.

Ocean City Police say they were contacted by a local bank fraud investigator, who said their bank had suffered a loss of around $31,000 because of deposits that 29-year-old Igor Gavryushin made.

An investigation reportedly showed that Gavryushin deposited over $43,000 into his bank account between January 21st and 23rd, but those checks were then later returned to the bank as "account closed" or "unlocatable." The bank says that before they were notified about those checks being returned, Gavryushin, had already withdrew $30,000 from his account.

On January 31st, OCPD arrested Gavryushin at his home, and found the $30,000 in his bedroom. He was charged with multiple counts of uttering bad checks and felony theft. Gavryushin is being held at the Worcester County Jail on $5,000.
