SALISBURY, Md. - James Norris died of a single gunshot wound to the head Monday. Maryland State Police say that shot was fired by a Salisbury Police Officer, identified to WMDT as Officer Milton Rodriguez.

According to authorities, an autopsy of the 25-year-old Norris revealed he suffered no other injuries. It has been confirmed that both men fired one shot each. However, they say Norris was not struck by the round fired from his right hand jacket pocket.

One bullet was recovered from the car Norris was in, but the other has not been located. Investigators are now testing that bullet to determine whose gun it was fired from.

We will continue to bring the very latest on this ongoing investigation as it becomes available. Stay tuned to WMDT and wmdt.com for the very latest.
