REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A Rehoboth man is behind bars after he was apparently linked to a cigarette store robbery.

Delaware State Police say on Tuesday, around 6:10 PM, they were called to the DOT Discount Cigarette store on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach, for a reported robbery.

An investigation showed that two female employees were at the counter when a white male went into the store, with his face partially covered with a dark mask, along with a knit cap and hood over his head. Police say he walked up to the two women, and handed over a note demanding cash and implying that he had a gun. The employees turned over an undisclosed amount of money, before the suspect fled out the front doors and ran towards South Street.

Neither victim was injured during the incident, and were reportedly able to provide a detailed description of the suspect to Troopers.

Later that evening, around 7:45 PM, a Trooper on patrol near South Street noticed a subject matching the description of the suspect being sought, standing outside of a residence. The Troopers contacted 20-year-old Dennis Parkstone, and took him into custody.

He was charged with two counts of 1st degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. Parkstone is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $35,000 bail.
